According to Fiorelli, in PAH, vol. II, 1819-1860;
“9th September 1835 – we are working to clear out the earth that covered all the floorings of the peristyle of the house of the private Baths, where in the floor of one of the rooms at the head of the same was revealed a small square of mosaic showing Theseus having killed the Minotaur, sized 17.25 inches squared (0.44m squared) (pal. 1 2/3 in quadro).”
