According to BdI,
“At the northern
end of the same roadway (in 1867), near that of Balbo, there is a fountain,
which was of the usual shape; it was constructed of lava and has a relief of an
ox's head for ornamentation.
I should like to point out that in it remains not only part of the lead pipe by means of which it received water, but inside the mouth of the ox’s head which still had the bronze mouth, from which the water flowed, while this bronze mouthpiece had not been preserved in the other fountains of Pompeii, found so far.”
